Pinky!!

Sometimes, it could just be the name, someone could fall for.

As her two-word name meaning art and creator, she justifies it prodigiously. A budding entrepreneur, a creative mind, a great painter of the art(as known and heard), a pampered kid at home and most importantly a hard nut to crack, all these powered by a killer wit makes it hard for anyone to outsmart this demoiselle.

As all these factors led to an immediate and extreme admiration, I took a step with deep hesitation and little trepidation.

Abstruse was the first thought about her and supercilious being the second. However, its too early to judge or perceive an opinion on her right now, but for now, these are my thoughts :). The more I know further, the more I update about her in this space.

PS: Pinky is not her name though!

The pages of my diary 2010

'Well begun is half done', felt that this is quite an apt opening line for this post.

I am referring the above line to the Year 2010. Though the year started quite well with the high of the Russian drink but the same 'spirit' wasn't maintained the year long.

The first three months were only marked with monotony and that was just work at office, tv at home, meddling with the guitar on the weekends and an interesting novel in hand if I had got any more free time.

Come April, little pinch about my career and some other aligned goals lured my mind but still those thoughts were minute enough to make any difference to my routine, infact the heat of Hyderabad summer made me think more about survival than anything else. Seriously, summer at Hyd sucks!

With the auto-rickshaw journeys getting troublesome and irritating at times, I decided to pull a rickshaw myself ;). It was the 31st of May I got my beast.

The charm of my new bike spanned across June and July, and was busy taking care of it as a newly-wed bride (cleaning, washing, on-time servicing), getting the necessary documents (registration, driving license) to ensure a hassle-free ride.

In fact,I had burnt my pockets a couple of times before, as I didn't have the driving license and had to pay the cops. At times, heftily!.

The month of July ended with a trip to the college for a re-union of my college friends. It was a good time reliving those past memories. It was during this time I started writing 'The lubberwort'. :)

Moving on, the rains of August and September washed away any last hopes that were breathing within me and that marked the end of the most-combated relationship I ever had.

With the clouds getting clear, and the focus shifting towards career, I marched ahead, rather slowly and started preparing to bell the CAT, for the next year though.

Soon came December and wedding bells at home, my elder sister was getting married :) and a sense of responsibility surged in me. As the role of a brother being really important I was busy sharing the work with my Dad and doing the wedding arrangements. I realized why getting a marriage done is considered as an arduous task!

In a blink of an eye, it was a new year again, this time with a bag full of resolutions and an intent to achieve all of them and to proudly write here the next year - "Year 2011. The mission accomplished!"

6/25..!! The kid within me wakes up!

"Whose answer paper is this? There is no roll number written on it! Did anyone miss writing their roll number? It belongs to the C division..."

Hearing this, I got up from the last bench of the left side rows of benches of our classroom and walked slowly to the dais where Anuradha Madam, our Science teacher, was standing with my answer paper.

My seating place in the class was the last bench (am not able to recollect why I was made to sit there, maybe I was too tall! :) or maybe I joined the school late and that was the only place left for me to occupy). Added to this, my place was next to the window and I could see some public life out of it and I rarely concentrated in the class, but I used to listen English and Social-Science , the reason being I liked the teachers who taught them.

General Science was the most hated, as Anuradha Madam was considered strict and I felt like Science was not my cup of tea, reading about how a wind mill works, how a cycle repairer checks a puncture in the tube, and other basic physics stuff.. huh!! this little mind perceived that as rocket science and never bothered to take it to the head much! :)

Back to the scene, I took the paper from her hand and apologized for forgetting to write my roll number, and then I wrote my number and gave her back checking my marks, they were awful..! I had got 6 out of 25 in the second unit test of Class 5 General Science subject.

I walked to my place feeling humiliated with my shoulders drooped and my head held low, that was the first time I had ever failed in an exam to my remembrance. It was more painful as I forgot to mention my roll number and whole of the class got to know my marks. The red underline that will be made in the progress report was before my eyes! I was hurt that day, didn't talk to anyone, was silent in the rickshaw back home, don't remember the rest of the day :)

Soon the month's progress cards were issued, the first to get the card will be the one who scored less or failed in most number of subjects, there were few under performers than me, it was my turn now, I received the card and went back to my place, checked the card, yes there it was , the second column for General Science was written as 24/100, highlighted with an under-line marked in red and 'Fail' in the result column.

My parents were too good for me, they dint scold me for failing in the exam rather they asked me to do well in the coming exams.

Being failed for the first time, I was determined now to perform in the further tests, and I actually did it, though I was not in the rankers list.
But still, I was the average boy!! and I managed to sneak a rank by the end of class 5 unit tests and it was rank IX (9).

Its fun getting on the lane of reminiscence and thinking how much life has changed, the priorities associated, the goals to be achieved, the modes of fun, the situations of high complexities..

This particular '6/25' incident helped me restructure my way, perform well, and as the old adage goes 'failures are the stepping stones', I consider it as one of those stepping stones, and that doesn't mean that I am successful right now, still a long way ahead and many stepping stones to cross, and stacking up some little incidents like this :)

The Password Connection!!

Warning : Philosophy inside!! Read it at your own risk!! ;)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Often, we come across this situation, where in we fed our old password and try to login to our pc or mail that we access, right after we had changed the password to a new one.

After several attempts we curse a minute telling 'wtf.. I am giving the right password, why the hell is it not accepting..!!??'

Then soon you remember that you had changed your password recently to a new one and enter it.

Even during the next login, we again fed the old password and again repeat the previous step.

However, by time and usage, slowly the new password gets internalised and you would login hassle-free.

Similarly, our mind gets pulled to some old memories which a person wants to keep them locked in a dark dungeon whose doors are protected by thick iron chains, a million miles inside the brain cells, where it would take a toll for the wires and axons of the brain to retrieve those deeply heeped memoirs.

But still those memories haunt and they will be fresh in our minds even after hours of self-counsel and after taking hundreds of oaths ('I am not gonna think of her from now on.. this is the only last time ever', ' I am over it', etc.,) to exhibit rock-solid determination.

However, it isn't impossible to get rid of a shaken past.
As how we remember the new password, by time, the present gets internalised in our mind, and slowly one could gain control on his self and his mind.

Yet one can't just sit and wait till some good amount of time gets over in his/her life, as an aphorism says an empty mind is like a devil's workshop, the mind has to be occupied all the time, leaving a very less space or no space at all for it to think or go back to the past.

As time flies (time = several years, in this context), getting into the rewind mode makes one feel that all the trauma that was once considered as 'life-threatening' would become a silly thought and a smile would lit up on the face thinking how stupid it was to think and remorse about a thing/person of less significance!! :)

Life do needs some pit-stops.. Just think that you are adding more fuel when you are hit with a jolt and race along with a 'well-serviced' body and mind!!

Suicidal!!!!

Some moments happen, some moments you create to yourself.

This was such a moment that was created by me and probably a nice moment for safe-keeping in my memory and can be remembered for years and laugh upon heart-fully :)

I felt a chill run down my spine when my name was called out for the duet performance.

Lack of practice was clearly on my face, even the lyrics of the song was not known by heart. My confidence was low, and the thought of being embarrassed infront of a pretty large audience was running in my mind.

The music had started, the mic was handed over to me, I tested it by tapping my fingers on it, there was no sound, the co-ordinator sitting in the first row pointed to the podium mic.

I moved across the dias and stood behind the podium and placed the notepad on it and was standing before the mic, my partner too joined beside me.

The introduction music was about to end and I was ready to take off. I sang the opening lines, rather I brayed.. :D

Some how I managed to finish the first stanza that also includes the part sung by my partner, she did outperform me!!

However, we messed up the second stanza, there was a notable difference in the time we were supposed to start the opening lines of the stanza and hence the synchronization was lost with the music.

By this time I was desperately waiting for the last line, I felt even the expressions of the crowd were similar, it seemed like they were forcibly made to witness a 'killing' performance and as though they were eagerly waiting for the song to get over.

I didn't mention the song right, it's Kilimanjaro, which I almost killed it.. ;)

That's how my first karaoke 'performance' unfolded and lot many lessons learnt, and certainly it deserved a post!! :)

The Robo Mania

"To be successful, avoid women and money..."
It took a massive 160 crores of rupees + Aishwarya Rai + Rajnikanth to prove this old adage true

This was my 'what's on your mind?' status after watching the movie Robo.

The multi-million dollar movie, Robo is a visual delight, and has set a benchmark on the Indian cinema. The picturesque locations, probably never explored by any other movie-makers added an extra glitz for the movie.

To say about Aishwarya Rai in one word she 'sizzles'.

Rajnikanth has delivered his typical style, and this time powered by 1 Tera Hertz speed and 1 Zetta Byte memory, created a mass hysteria. I am not a movie buff to publish a review, but while watching the movie I felt like 'yes.. I am gonna write a post on this..'.

The first half of the movie leaves you with chitti's comedy. It also makes you visit some spectacular spots, especially in the opening song.

The movie gets a little slow soon after the intermission and that part is quite forgettable.

However, the intensity gears get changed steadily and raise to the peak by the climax with Rajnikanth's omnipresence.

The usage of graphics and visual effects is apt and Rajni's several avatars mesmerizes the audience.

Coming to music, 'chitti chitti robo' song still tingles my ears and rest of the songs dint create much impact.

On contrary to Rajni's other flicks, this movie doesn't have a heavy introduction scene of him, there is just a simple opening, that was a kind of under statement like 'wait and watch, there is so much in store' and it is certainly justified.

One more interesting fact about the movie is, Rajni's mannerisms are not compromised even when he is playing the role of a humanoid robot ;)

Overall, your money is paid-worth!! Robo version 2.0 could be on the cards too!! :)
